What started out as a garage hobby in the small Vermont town of Essex soon took on a more fruitful path when band founders Brendan O'Leary and Brian O'Connor discovered they had a knack for creating music that was as honest and accessible as it was unique. In an effort to cultivate a more defined sound, the two worked feverishly over the course of several years and their shared college careers in Atlanta to write and finalize a group of new songs. Once the foundation for a band was set, the duo pooled their resources and pulled together the idyllic group of guys now known as The O-Line to bring the finished music to life. With each member's unique musical background and enthusiasm for writing, the music took on an entirely new and vibrant sound. Mike Miles brings a soulful energy to the bass guitar, focusing on stepping outside the traditional root note emphasis of many rock bassists before him. Drummer Nathan Hadley brings a strong bias for dynamic beat emphasis to the band's sound, and violinst Paul Hsieh uses his classical training to fit melodies and riffs like a practiced puzzle master.
